So this is one of my independent work for the NSCAD portfolio preperation class. I titled Self portrait becuase I find that a hand can be a symbol of identity. This idea was inspired by how jesus's christ's wounded hands forever identified him as the "lamb of god" The words in the background is a translation of the Nicene creed, our father, glory be and hail mary prayers into my invented language "Ruisarin" So why did I used post it notes? I'm not really sure, I have a reason but its intrinsic. :P

Brilliant work, the language compliments the hand wonderfully. I am glad to see other people are making languages as well. The meaning is also wonderful! Overall great piece! :thumbsup: :+fav: =D

Thanks! I find that most creators of "artlangs" are shy to showcase their creation and because of that its kinda of a hidden art that should be more rampant as a contemporary movement. lolz but its really a pain translating long passages into these these invented language. there are still thousands of words that need to be translated into "ruisarin" :S.

lol I started this on monday: which is ample time but it felt like last minute, I liked how the hand turned out considering I rushed through it hahah. He said to make a series of work. all the rest of this series is digital and I'm debating whether to print it or not :P....
